Ruth Amos, age 27, is an award winning Inventor, Entrepreneur and Maker of Things. Ruth started inventing whilst still at school and during her GCSE project created ‘The Stairsteady’ (a mobility device) which is sold internationally. Winner of Young Engineer for Britain in 2006, Ruth works on a variety of creative engineering projects and designs and builds crazy contraptions; from a flame-throwing piano to a superhero suit that fires custard. Her journey as an inventor began at just 16 when she designed Stairsteady, an assistive device for people with mobility issues, earning her the Young Engineer for Britain award. Since then, she has built a career at the intersection of creativity, engineering, and education, working on projects that showcase the power of invention.
