Russell Danzey has been acclaimed as the UK’s next Lewis Hamilton of the motor racing scene.
The seventeen year old from Sheffield, is the talk of the pits as he has put himself amongst the top names in the racing world. On his way through the ranks Russell has won rounds in the National Formula Kart Stars the championship backed by Lewis Hamilton and Bernie Ecclestone, amongst a whole host of other achievements in his short career in the driving seat.

Russell Danzey has been acclaimed as the UK’s next Lewis Hamilton of the motor racing scene.
The seventeen year old from Sheffield, is the talk of the pits as he has put himself amongst the top names in the racing world. On his way through the ranks Russell has won rounds in the National Formula Kart Stars the championship backed by Lewis Hamilton and Bernie Ecclestone, amongst a whole host of other achievements in his short career in the driving seat.
At just 13 he was the youngest ever driver to qualify for the European finals and at 16 he was the youngest in senior class to pull off the same accolade.
His career has been no easy ride and after an incredible year setting the pace in the highest European races the recession forced him in to being a test driver for an emerging team with all the problems of testing and analysing equipment.
On a kart that everyone said would never come in the top 10 he defied pundits to take 4 podiums in the year including 2 wins. The gutsy drives won him the John Surtees scholarship to step up in to single seater racing and in only his third race he was on the podium
2011 was to be the first full year in single seaters and an incredible start and has seen him score regular top 10’s against drivers almost double his age, lack of funding has seen him complete just half the year and although a massive disappointment Russ as resourceful as ever has helped his parents to secure funding to develop their business, with a solid plan to be on the grid for 2012
Russell has also been identified by the UK Governing Body of Motor Sport, The Motor Sports Association (MSA) as being a potentially elite competitor, and has been selected for the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). His determination, focus and incredible ability has put earned him peer respect and that of racing pundits alike.
