Jeremy Indika is a former McLaren design engineer who left his career in 2018 to dedicate his life to preventing the sexual abuse of children and teenagers, both in person and online. After finding strength and clarity through sharing his own experiences, Jeremy went on to found “Something to Say” — a movement created to give others the opportunity to share their story if they wish to do so, and to help break the silence around a subject that is often difficult to speak about.
Jeremy Indika speaks on the following topics:
Innovation | Mental Health | Personal Safety | Sexual abuse prevention
Jeremy Indika is a speaker, podcast host, and the founder of “Something to Say.” A former McLaren design engineer, he left his career in 2018 to dedicate his work to preventing the sexual abuse of children and teenagers, both in-person and online.
Drawing on lived experience and nearly a decade of focused work in this field, Jeremy has developed clear and engaging ways of communicating this subject to children, teenagers, parents, and professionals. His work centres on breaking silence, building confidence, and helping communities create safer environments for everyone involved.
Primary Schools – Fun Engaing sessions that bring body and online safety to life – Using a dynamic gaming analogy, Jeremy takes children through interactive “levels” that build on their existing safety knowledge in a way they genuinely engage with.
Secondary and college Students – A session that stays with them – so they know they can speak up if they event need to – A powerful message delivered through a real story students never forget, modelling courage, strength, and resilience in the face of adversity.
Parent Sessions – Empowering them to understand their Role and Responsibility in Safeguarding their Child and Supporting the School – A practical, parent-friendly session designed to help them understand their role and responsibility in keeping their child safe.
Teacher Training – Your Safeguard Sessions are only one piece of a Very Big Puzzle – there is so much more Staff and School Leavers need to understand – Jeremy brings what traditional safeguarding training cannot: a deeply human insight into what children and teenagers can feel and think around sexual abuse — which can, at times, be very different from what adults expect.
Training the Police, Social Workers and Foster Carers – Creating space to step back, reflect and reconnect with the human impact of abuse – This session creates structured space for professionals to step back from the pace of their roles and reflect more deeply on the work they do. Rather than focusing on policy or procedure, it slows the process down to examine how repeated exposure to abuse cases can shape perception, judgement, and decision-making over time.
“My son was one of the year 7 children you spoke to at Chigwell School. After school, he spoke to me about your visit and your story. He was really inspired by you and your courage and bravery. He isn’t aware that his dad was sexually abused as a child as we’ve not told him yet. I just wanted to message you so you know how valued you are. My son said he “clapped hard” for you and he was touched by your story. Educating children about abuse is invaluable and at an early age. Please continue this great work you are doing. My marriage fell apart partly due to the impact of the abuse on my ex husband but I believe something positive can always come from some negative and you’re proof of that too.” Mother of Student
“Hi Jeremy, I am a student at the school you presented at on Tuesday and I must say, pretty much everyone came out saying how that was one of the most interesting and engaging talks we’ve ever had! The way you explained your story was so captivating. Thank you so much for sharing your story, it was really inspiring and I felt very proud of you!” Student
“I certainly found your talk enlightening and a step up from the usual lesson on this topic. Thanks for giving your presentation at our school, you were inspiring to listen to!” Student
“Hey man hope your well u came to my school the other day and I wanted to say wow what a powerful speech u addressed things so well and left me with a lot to go away and think about. Really amazing speech one again” Student
“We were lucky enough to have Jeremy deliver a day of impactful talks at our school. After working carefully to tailor his talks to our specific Year 5 and 6 cohorts and aligning with our Personal Development curriculum, Jeremy engaged our children in meaningful discussions about staying safe and understanding what is not okay. His sessions with staff were invaluable, reminding us of why we have a duty to foster a culture of safety throughout the school especially today with the increase of social media. Jeremy provided us with parent letters, video footage and follow up tasks which has made the sessions more meaningful. Jeremy’s manner, personal experience and passion as well as his expert knowledge has left a lasting impression on our school community, and we are grateful for his contribution. We will be inviting Jeremy in again and look forward to working with him in the future.” Primary School

“Jeremy visited our school and spoke with 3 of our year groups about his story along with how to prevent others from experiencing and how to support those who have already experienced harm. This was incredibly thought-provoking and powerful for the students. Jeremy was a really emotive and engaging speaker, highlighting dangers and strategies for young people to protect themselves. Students left the talk saying that he was the best external speaker we have had, and when there was an unplanned fire alarm students were complaining as they wanted to hear more about what he wanted to say! Jeremy is incredibly passionate about sharing his message to help protect young people and this is evident in his talks and the desire to get feedback from all stakeholders on how to further develop this. Jeremy delivered our staff training on the same day and this was one of the best safeguarding training sessions we have had – even speaking as the DSL who delivers this normally! Jeremy’s training session with staff was engaging and reinforced previous safeguarding training for staff, and whilst this was a hard-hitting, and for some a little difficult to hear, the overwhelming staff feedback was about how important it was for staff to hear from him and his story in order to better support and protect young people. I would definitely recommend schools to get Jeremy in to speak with both staff and students – we will be looking to get him back in for the 2 year groups we weren’t able to cover on the visit. Jeremy’s message is incredibly important and it is important that all students, and staff, are able to hear this.” Maiden Erlegh School
“We are incredibly proud to have welcomed Jeremy Indika to The Ongar Academy, where he shared his powerful and deeply personal story as a child victim of sexual abuse. Jeremy spoke candidly about the true reality of the grooming process and the impact of the abuse, delivering an eye-opening and essential message to our students.” The Ongar Academy
“Jeremy left our students absolutely spellbound. He navigated the fine balance between student participation and any risk of disruption expertly, helping our students feel really engaged with the content of his very important sessions. I was struck by Jeremy’s nimble ability to pitch his content appropriately to different year groups: he spoke to whole year groups from Year 9 to Year 13, and in every session amended what he said to target the audience most impactfully. I wholly recommend Jeremy as a speaker to all schools – thank you very much again!” Wilsons School
“Outstanding training event, so powerful and thought provoking. To hear from a victim of child sexual abuse, their own story, really made me sit up and think about the work we do. One of the best training events I have attended. This should be rolled out to all CS’s staff, school staff, young club settings, and to young people themselves.” Merthyr County Council
“Jeremy visited our school to deliver a two-hour safeguarding session on sexual abuse. I was initially nervous about suggesting this training due to its sensitive nature; however, my concerns were unfounded. The session Jeremy delivered was professional and highly informative. Conversations among colleagues continued long after Jeremy left, and I am confident that his session will remain part of ongoing discussions as we work toward fostering more open and honest conversations about the difficult realities our students may face.” St. Simon Stock Catholic School
Thank you, Jeremy, for your invaluable work that conveyed very important messages. My only regret is that we did not book you for a longer session and we would not hesitate to welcome you back to work with you further.” St. Simon Stock Catholic School
“I was one of those teachers who listened to you yesterday- and your message was so powerful. Today I dealt with an issue and I reminded children of those all important rules about privacy and personal space- I think we assume we do this all the time, but I am going to make sure I reinforce that rule whenever I can- I want them to be so clear about their ownership of their bodies, that the rules round this are so firm in their heads and the choices they make. Thank you is not a big enough sentiment for the impact you made yesterday.” Barming Primary School
“We invited Jeremy to speak to our DSLs across the Dukes Education Group as part of our annual DSL development day. We wanted to engage with someone who would take us out of our comfort zone and generate conversations. Jeremy uses his life story to illustrate the impact of the crime of child sexual abuse, allowing us to explore some really difficult topics in a safe and supported environment. Jeremy’s style of delivery was engaging, thoughtful and facilitated open and meaningful discussions. I would recommend that every school’s DSL has an opportunity to listen to Jeremy’s presentation. I have been involved in education for over 34 years and safeguarding in education for the last 20 years and I believe this was one of the most interesting and impactful talks on safeguarding I have every listened to, but more importantly, the DSLs involved in that day are still talking about the session and I am sure we will have 40 DSLs look at how they safeguard children in schools in a more informed way.” Duke’s Education Trust
“Having had the privilege of attending our talk by Jeremy Indika on the sensitive topic of sexual abuse, I can confidently say it was an enlightening and empowering experience for all who were there. Jeremy skillfully navigated through the complexities of this difficult subject with grace, compassion, and expertise. His ability to connect with the audience on such a deeply emotional level was inspiring. Through personal anecdotes, professional insights, and thought-provoking statistics, Jeremy effectively shed light on grooming and sexual abuse while simultaneously offering hope and guidance for those affected. What stood out most for me was Jeremy’s unwavering commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for survivors to feel heard and validated. His empathetic approach not only inspired empathy and understanding but also encouraged open dialogue and community engagement. I left the presentation feeling educated, empowered, and equipped with valuable resources to support both myself and others in the fight against abuse. I cannot recommend Jeremy highly enough for his invaluable contribution to our school community. His dedication to raising awareness and fostering healing is truly commendable, and I look forward to the positive impact he will continue to make in the lives of many.” The Skinners School
“Jeremy captivated 1250 students with his powerful message, leaving many students on their feet at the end of his talk and wishing to say thank you for his presence that day and for coming to speak to them. Jeremy left staff with tears in their eyes as he retold his story, in such a dignified manner showing resilience, power, yet truthfulness and sensitivity. It can be tricky as a school leader to allow someone to speak to your students on a topic so sensitive for fear of parental complaint/ fear of the wrong words being said to the students/ fear of not knowing how students will react- but please don’t be fearful. Jeremy’s talks are one that every student up and down the country needs to hear. We don’t shy away from speaking to students about drugs/ vaping/ e-safety/ FGM/ bullying- we as educators owe it to our students to teach them about grooming and having a voice. I fully recommend this workshop, and I am so glad that now every student at the school I work in from Year 7 to Year 13, is aware of Jeremy’s story and message now also.” Wallington County Grammar School
“Jeremy Indika’s talk on his personal experience of child sexual abuse had a profound impact on Sudbury Primary School’s staff. His courage in sharing such a sensitive topic created an environment of openness and empathy. The talk served as a poignant reminder that children may react differently to abuse, underscoring the importance of fostering a culture where every child feels comfortable sharing their concerns, no matter how minor. Sudbury Primary School is grateful for the valuable insights gained from Jeremy’s talk, reinforcing our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for all our students. We would recommend all school leaders to book Jeremy to come and raise awareness in their own schools.” Sudbury Primary School
“We were one of the first schools to welcome Jeremy Indika in to share his personal story. Jeremy speaks passionately about his life experiences; pupils from Year 9-11 were completely engaged throughout and asked many questions about a difficult topic. Jeremy has an excellent manner with pupils and indeed staff. I would welcome him back to talk to pupils again, potentially even to Year 7&8.” Kingswood House School
“I booked Jeremy to speak at our Safeguarding training on our September Inset day for our whole school body. The impact on our staff was huge, with many of them stating it was some of the best training they have ever had! The training was so incredibly powerful which can not be replicated through generic online training. Jeremy was able to take our staff on a journey of what CSA can look like and how we as professionals can ensure we are doing all that we can to keep our pupils safe. I would encourage any DSL or school leader to organise for Jeremy to come and present at their school – it really is an impactful and compelling CPD.” Reach Academy

“The presentation is powerful because in all our safeguarding training, we talk hypothetically about scenarios, but most staff have never actually talked face-to-face with someone who has been a victim, and are able to be so open and honest about what happened to them. Knowing we may not see any signs has inspired those of us who work with children to re-examine how we communicate this subject to both children and parents.” Hope Therapy Dogs
