Charlie Martin

Charlie is an incredible individual whose quest for on track success combined with her courage and bravery in her journey of identity realisation in one of the least forgiving environments in sport, is nothing short of remarkable. Representing a complete paradigm shift in motorsport that has never been seen before, Charlie, as a trans woman in motorsport, occupies a unique role within her sport and within the LGBTQ+ community.

Her incredible story of battling against stigma (even from some of those closest to her) and adversity is perfect for inspiring people from all walks of life to be courageous in becoming their true-self, being accepting of others’ identity and appreciating the uniqueness and potential of individuals as individuals.

On the track, Charlie has been successful in all categories she has contested, having competed in cars ranging from hot hatches & GT’s to single seaters & prototypes, she had three consecutive podiums in Ginetta GTS Challenge & 3^rd place at Le Mans (Bugatti) – she has a proven and rare versatility to racing in high level motorsport.

Charlie is a very experienced speaker and a true pioneer of transgender participation and LGBTQ+ inclusivity in sport.  She shares her very personal and insightful thoughts and experiences on the following themes:
