Congratulations to the amazing Claire Lomas who completed the Manchester Marathon using her ‘bionic’ suit (affectionately known as Freddie) to walk the course.  We followed her progress with complete admiration, cheering her on every step of the way.

Claire Lomas MBE, who was left paralysed from the chest down after a riding accident over 10 years ago, completed the 26-mile marathon in just eight days.  She cut nine days off her previous record of 17 days for the London Marathon in 2012.

Raising thousands of pounds for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, Claire’s ultimate aim to end paralysis.  Claire says “After my accident, everything had changed. I never thought I'd be happy and be paralysed.  Now I wouldn't change my life because of what I've got. Two lovely little girls, plus the opportunities I've had.”

What an inspirational lady!
