Injuries and surgery threatened Leon’s chances at the Commonwealth Games, however it wasn’t until the 2008 Games in Bejing that Leon had to retire from the sport he loved.   The body may not have been able to cope anymore, but the mind was still in full flow and he began to mentor young divers including a diving star Tom Daley.  He published his first book ‘Mentor’ his  ‘how to do it’ study which could end up becoming the new business bible.

Leon, a regular after dinner speaker, inspires audiences with his talks on Motivation and Teamwork.
