Celia Delaney is a highly experienced conference speaker, who speaks on sales and persuasion, showing you how to build both your confidence and your communication skills.
She is particularly interested in how to promote your business through speaking and has devised a 5-step sales conversation called iPromote, which took her conversion rate from 25% to 75% when she started to use it in her business.
With a background of fifteen years of experience in organising and running events, including being an events manager for a central London venue in the past, and hosting the Venus Awards for three years in a row, Celia is adept at keeping the audience’s energy high. Described as ‘inspirational’, ‘engaging’ and ‘very funny’, Celia is dedicated to making your event lively, entertaining and memorable. Extremely professional in her preparation and attention to detail on the day, Celia brings her corporate background and comedy work together to create a potent mix of intelligence and humour.
A sought-after speaker, Celia has spoken for Ashridge Business School, Institute of Directors, the Academy for Chief Executives, the Dorchester Collection, and Thomson Reuters. Franchising clients have included Coconut Creatives, InXpress, Cafe2U, Extra Help, Venus Awards and Encouraging Women into Franchising.
Alongside speaking, Celia is often asked to be the MC for award ceremonies and has hosted the NatWest Venus Awards, Women in Policing Awards and The Good Funeral Awards.
As part of her speaking and MC work, Celia can also has an after-dinner show, called Man Wanted!, a hilarious romp through the ups and downs of middle age, marriage and monotony. A great way to finish off your evening!
Celia read Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, then joined Unilever’s graduate scheme and went on to be HR Director of one of their factory sites. She then trained as an actress and worked in stage & television for five years, before deciding to use all of her skills – psychology, people and performance – in setting up her own training and speaking business. Alongside this, she went on to bring the Venus Awards to Devon; a licensed year-round event that recognises women in business. It became the biggest business event in Devon within three years. She is married and lives in London.
Celia was recently awarded a Fellowship of the Professional Speaking Association (FPSA).
