Sue Barker - Motivational Speaker

Sue Barker is a British Grand Slam winning former tennis champion who was crowned as the French open winner in 1976 whilst also reaching the semifinals at both Wimbledon and the Australian Open. She won the last singles title of her career at Brighton in 1981, finishing the year ranked 16th in the world.
Upon retiring from tennis Sue became a commentator and sports reporter for Australia's Channel 7 in 1985 before going on to anchor tennis coverage for British Sky Broadcasting in 1990. In 1993, Sue joined the BBC team to present their Wimbledon coverage and now anchors the two week long broadcast for the network. She has since branched out becoming one of their chief sports presenters and is the long standing host of “A Question of Sport” which she begun in 1997.
Today, Sue is better known for her work with the BBC after a successful career hosting live sports coverage of major events such as the Australian Open, the French Open, Queens Club Championships, Eastbourne, Davis Cup, the Albert Hall Masters and Wimbledon.
However, this is just one part of her impressive portfolio. Sue presents a host of major sporting events including; The Grand National (1996-2006), The Derby (2001-2007), Racing at Ascot and Longchamp (1995-1999), Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury, Rugby League Challenge Cup, The Great North Run, World Athletics Championships and European Athletics Championships (both since 1999), Commonwealth Games (since 1994), Winter Olympics (since 1994) and the infamous Sports Personality of the Year (since 1994).
In 2008, Sue’s contract with the BBC was extended and she will be providing live coverage of the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games.
